Towards the Finish Line

The TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes is JDRF's largest fundraising event, attracting over 45,000 Canadians in 2009. These walkers are dedicated to raising money to help fund research leading to cures and treatments for millions of children and adults living with diabetes. We raised $8.4 million last year, and our goal for 2010 is to exceed that target.

In 2008, JDRF welcomed TELUS as the new title sponsor of the TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes. In addition to helping elevate the event's profile, TELUS has contributed over $2.3 million to JDRF through corporate donations, employee fundraising, an employee charitable giving program, sponsorship and other events. Through community investment programs, TELUS is funding research they hope will lead to breakthroughs in diabetes care and treatments and ultimately a cure. TELUS is the leading provider of healthcare solutions, and developing new technology solutions that will improve the quality of life for people living with type 1 diabetes.
