Join us for our inaugural bicycle ride to raise funds for JDRF, formally known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF’s research is committed to improving the lives of every person with Type 1 Diabetes and to curing this disease. It is our goal that Simcoe County’s strong and energetic cycling community will make this an annual event that grows in participation and recognition.
The ride will start at the Oro Fairgrounds at the corner of the 7th Line and the 15-16 Sideroad of Oro-Medonte and travel along the well-known cycling friendly roads of the township. There will be three routes (25 km, 50 km and 100 km) to entice both seasoned cyclists and recreational enthusiasts.

Riders younger than 18 years of age are required to be accompanied by an adult.
Helmets are mandatory.
You must ride according to the Highway Traffic Act, which means things like: staying to the right hand side of the lane (single or double file), stopping at STOP signs and red traffic lights and signalling turns.
There are a few railroad crossings. Please dismount if you are concerned. Slower speed and crossing rails at 90 degrees is recommended
There will be marshals at road intersections. Marshals cannot stop traffic. They are there to guide you along the route
Please collect your garbage including energy bar and various food wrappers and dispose of them in appropriate waste bins.
There will be rest stations with hydration and some food along the route.
To register for the ride, click on the registration button. The cost of registration is $50.00. If you want to be involved but are not interested in riding, click on the volunteer button to inform us and we will be in touch with you (Please Note: These buttons will take you to external websites outside of JDRF).
Now that you have registered, proceed to the design of your fundraising page. We are not enforcing fundraising but this ride is to help raise not only awareness but also funds for Type 1 Diabetes research. We highly encourage all our participants to raise a minimum of $250.00.
This is a lovely option to explore some of the countryside, forests and farmlands in the heart of Oro. You can’t remove all the climbs but riders will find nice gradual rises that are not too challenging.
Get your legs ready for a good day in the saddle. A few short steep climbs and nice rollers get you close to Moonstone.
The hardcore riders will appreciate the challenges in this nice loop bringing you around Mount St Louis. The profile doesn’t lie: there’s some climbing involved. This is a favorite amongst local cyclists.
