I am riding in the JDRF iRide to move research forward.

For many years, friends, family, co-workers and clients have supported my fundraising efforts for JDRF Canada and for that I am truly grateful.  I have decided to return to the open road and take on a new challenge this year;  a century ride, or  gran fondo (100 miles) in Saratoga Springs, NY.  Training has begun and hopefully we will have a hot, dry summer in Canada to prepare me well for the hilly Adirondacks.

As many of you know, two of my nephews have lived with diabetes throughout their childhood and teenage years. The road of life that Dylan and David travel is much harder than most of us face, filled with daily challenges to control their diabetes and not let it interfere with their passion for life, sports, music etc...They inspire me every day and I will be thinking of them on the long training rides leading up to the century ride in September.
